Mount Altissimo in Nago is the highest peak in the northern part of the Monte Baldo ridge. Near the summit, Rifugio Altissimo - Monte Baldo can be reached in various ways: through beautiful hikes or mountain biking (challenging route), for the lazy ones you can also arrive by cable car (Malcesine-Monte Baldo).
From Rovereto, it takes 20-30 minutes to reach two of the points from which the paths to the summit depart: Nago, a town you meet just before reaching Lake Garda, or San Valentino, a well-known ski resort in the area.
Alternatively, if you continue along the road that runs along the lake on the eastern side, it takes another 15 minutes to reach Malcesine, the beautiful lakeside town from which the cable car to the summit departs.
We recommend a full-day excursion, in the morning and early afternoon a hike at altitude while in the evening a walk and maybe a pizza overlooking the lake in Malcesine, breathtaking views and fresh air for this strictly summer excursion, not to be missed!!!
